Serves as: Benevolence, Finance Team
Motivation to serve in the local church: Serving your local church with your hands, feet, words, and prayers is something all believers are called to do. I serve our church, not because it is always easy or natural, but because Jesus loves His Church and I want to love what Jesus loves. When the need arose in the church for deacons, I felt it was a calling that aligned with my desire to serve others as well as the particular gifts, talents, and experiences with which the Lord has blessed me.
Family profile: I have been married to my wife, Lauren, since 2004 and we have five children. Peter, Lillian, Caleb, Timothy, and Barnabas. Yes, we have 4 boys; yes, we really named the last one Barnabas; and yes, my wife is amazing.
Current vocation: Center Manager at BioLife Plasma Services, Fort Wayne. B.A. in History from Auburn University.
Background: Lauren and I were raised in the southern United States, in Alabama, and I served in the U.S. Army for five years. We moved around a few places and ended up living in Fort Wayne in 2011. Although we imperfectly worship and love God, we realize we still get to serve Him, a perfect, faithful, loving, and holy God.
