Oversees – pastoral care and counseling
Jim grew up in the Fort Wayne area and was educated during his younger years through Holy Cross Catholic School. Fresh out of high school, during the end of the Vietnam war era, Jim enlisted with the United States Marine Corp. He served a three year term and returned to Fort Wayne where he began working at Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire. After a 31 year stent at Phelps, Jim then took on the role of Operations Manager at American Sport Works, a local go-kart factory.
After many years of living separate from the Lord and His people, finally in 2002, during his mid-thirties, Jim surrendered his heart to Jesus Christ. He fell in love with Gail and they now share over 12 years of marriage together. Their blended family consists of five children and nine grandchildren.
Jim says that “although I had a life-time of experience, I had no purpose”. Now he recognizes the purpose of his life is to use what he has walked through to serve others, as he serves God through the local church. In his former years, Jim intentionally denied God, and His word; today he is a man that genuinely understands the gravity of God’s grace.
Both Jim and Gail have a desire to help those struggling with life issues and they have found that place here in the church by overseeing the Biblical Counseling Ministry.
