Welcome to the HGC Awana site!
Awana is a global, nonprofit ministry with fully integrated evangelism and long-term discipleship programs for ages 2 to 18 that actively involves parents and church leaders. Each week, more than 2 million children and youth, 330,000 volunteers and 260 field staff take part in Awana in 30,000 churches around the world. Offered through local churches, Awana reaches kids where they’re at and walks alongside them in their faith journey.
Join us each Wednesday evening from 6:30pm-8pm through the school year starting on September 7, 2016 as we partner with parents and families to deepen preschool through elementary kid's relationship with Jesus and strengthen their faith. For the hour and a half that your child is at HGC, they memorize and quote verses, pray for each other, apply scripture in both large and small group settings, compete in game time, and build friendships that will last a lifetime.
If this sounds like an evening that you want your child to participate in, fill out a registration form below or pick up a paper copy are at HGC so your child can come join in the adventure. If this sounds like an evening that you would like to help out with, fill out a Servant Application at the bottom of the Join A Team page.
Cubbies - Preschool
In Cubbies, children have a fun, friendly place to learn about God's greatness. There are exciting games, basic Bible memory and two years of curriculum that encourage parents to get involved in their child's learning.
Sparks - Kindergarten to 2nd grade
In three years, children in Sparks (called Sparkies) learn about the Bible from cover to cover. Sparks ignites the curiosity of kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.
T&T - 3rd to 6th grades
T&T teaches kids the truth of God's Word and trains them to follow Him and practice His grace. This year new features have been added to the Ultimate Adventure experience for your child while holding true to the goal of T&T: offer more opportunities for kids to understand, retain and apply what they're learning in the Scriptures. Their leaders and parents will have the tools they need to teach and disciple kids in ways the create lasting impact. Kids are taught about God, Jesus, Scripture and how to life out their faith. Each of the 30 sections coordinates with Large Group and Small Group sessions for a total learning experience aimed at long-term discipleship.
C-Track - 7th to 12th grades
C-track™ (C for Citation award and College scholarship program) is a plan enabling teens to continue in Awana® past T&T™ even though their church does not offer a Trek® or Journey™ program. The goal of C-track is to allow teens to complete the handbooks and also to benefit from the 2-18 overall integration plan of the Awana program. This integration plan is based on the Master Life Threads: Respect, Wisdom, Grace, Destiny and Perspective. Trek and Journey focus on the Life Threads of Destiny and Perspective — necessary values for a biblical worldview.
C-track is a way for teens to complete the books one-on-one with an adult at his or her church. We recognize that many teens are already completing their books this way, but until now Awana has not offered a uniform set of guidelines for doing so.
Contact Carrie Patterson at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about how HGC is facilitating this option as a relational and discipleship Student Ministries is offered on Wednesday evenings.
